This year there shall be two special guest ensembles performing on November 4 at the Mediterranean Conference Centres. These are the Gentlemen Singers from the Czech Republic and the Prelude Arsis Handbell Ensemble.
With great pleasure we announce that the Gentleman Singers of the Czech Republic will be performing during the Grand Concert as part of the Festival programme on the 4th November. This all male ensemble from Hradec Králové is the only professional male octet of its kind in the Czech Republic. The ensemble has won several international competitions and is a frequent guest at prestigious festivals all over the world. Indeed, throughout its career, the ensemble has given as many as 500 concerts in 23 countries. Two of the more outstanding performances were those held in the USA as well as the one in South Korea.
A treat to participating choirs and the general public comes in the form of Arsis, a handbell ensemble from Estonia, performing at the Grand Concert that shall be held, on the 4th November. as part of the Malta International Choir Festival. Arsis Handbell Ensemble was established in 1993 in Tallinn, Estonia to play a very special and unconventional instrument. At present Arsis owns one of the most impressive bell collections in the world, all produced at the Malmark factory in Pennsylvania, USA. The ensemble is composed of talented music students. To date, this group has given numerous concerts, not only in their own country but even in many others, such as Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Israel and US.
Both ensembles shall be performing on November 4 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre . They will be giving two shows of one hour each, the first starting at 5 pm and the other at 7 pm. Admission fee is Euro 15. For choirs participating in the festival admission is already incorporated in participation fee and so complimentary tickets shall be provided.
